I had an issue with my GLA a few days ago.
It's a 220CDI 4Matic and I'd just done a short, 10-minute trip in it, then returned it to the garage. A couple of hours later, I went back into the garage and found it was like an oven in there and that there was a whirring sound coming from the GLA's engine compartment, which I assumed was a fan. As soon as I unlocked the door the sound stopped. I looked under the bonnet but couldn't see anything amiss, (no surprise there these days!)

To cut a long story short, I returned the car to the MB dealer who ran a series of diagnostics on it and found that there had been a problem with the software in the engine management system. I was told that sometimes new cars come out of the factory with less than up-to-date software (?)
Fortunately no damage had been done, but I'm glad I noticed the problem when I did.

So, Proud GLA Owners - check up on your new baby occasionally, and make sure that your software is up to date next time you visit your dealer.

Hope that helps.
