Have you read all the news this week that Apple are reportedly building a self driving electric car?Several media outlets including The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times reported last week Apple was working to create an electric car that may be driverless although the tech giant has yet to confirm the reports.
The project is code-named Titan and the vehicle design resembles a minivan, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier Friday.
Some Apple executives have flown to Austria to meet with contract manufacturers of high-end cars, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

I think it will be very hard for them to make money from this. What they are likely to do is build in the entertainment systems, the battery packs and technology surrounding that to sell on to others.

Carlos Ghosn, the CEO of the Nissan-Renault Alliance, welcomes the idea that Apple wants to get into the electric car business.
"If Apple does it, obviously it's good news for us," he said in a Monday keynote presentation at the Mobile World Congress trade show.

It may not be obvious to everyone. Given Apple's penchant for dominating the businesses it enters -- whether it's digital music or smartphones -- Ghosn's answer sounds rather counter-intuitive.

Probably because Apple would charge a premium for it and Nissan would come along and say look - you can buy electric cars from us for £1000's cheaper!
