Try John Knott got cover for 3 years for £20000 for £151 a great saving considering if in the event the car is totalled in a crash... well worth taking it out for piece of mind.

The Law changed this year (as in April 2015). Mercedes are no longer allowed to charge £400 pounds for GAP insurance.
I had taken out both GAP and SMART Insurance with merc (£800), but because I received my car on the 1st April I was awarded over £300 back due to this.
Lucky.

I'd read that the new rules were not due to come into force until September. Even then Mercedes can still charge what they want, they just have to allow you a cooling off period and ensure you are aware you can shop around and it may be cheaper elsewhere (eg: ALA).

Yeah it's all about the cooling off period. They can and no doubt will still charge over the odds. You're best off looking at a decent company like ALA mentioned above.
