These leaked patent photos show Mercedes-Benz is preparing a new entry-level model for its GLA-Class, the 180 CDI.
A more affordable price tag will be possible by removing the roof rails and alloy wheels, while the xenon headlights will also be left out of the equation. It will also lack a dual exhaust arrangement and will likely have some other features removed too.
It will pack Renault's 1.5-litre DCi engine which produces 109 HP (81 kW) and should enable the crossover to have a fuel consumption of around 70.6 mpg. This engine can be found under the bonnet of various Renault, Nissan and Dacia models, as well as in the A 180 CDI.
