Is there any interest in getting together in the north-west area one sunny summer weekend afternoon, possibly with a hotel stopover for a meal and some drinks - all in the name of an excuse for a social day or night out?
I am well used to organising bike runs and social events of all sorts, and I've noticed that there are quite a few forum members in the Wales and Manchester area, so I thought it might be nice to organise a meet with our GLAs somewhere like:
(1) </font>At the Ponderosa Cafe at the top of the Horseshoe Pass in North Wales, where you can then climb the mountain (large hill) opposite to see spectacular views across North Wales and Shropshire. I know plenty of hotels and pubs in nearby Ruthin - a lovely town near to my home - and/or the beautiful town of LLangollen in the Dee Valley, with its famous old railway to Corwen.
(2)</font> At the RAF Cosford Museum near Telford, where you can see hundreds of aircraft in huge hangers (that I used to train on back in 1979). Again, I know some nice hotels, pubs and restaurants in nearby Shifnall.
(3)</font> Any number of other places such as Chester, Shrewsbury, Snowdonia etc.
It would be great to put some faces to [user]names. If there is enough interest, I don't mind organising it. Please post if it sounds like a good idea to you
