Headlight sensor question

I'd like to adjust the lux level at which the automatic headlights are activated. I find that they don't come on quite early enough. I can't find any way to adjust it by changing settings so I wonder if I could apply a piece of slightly tinted film to the light sensor to make the lights come on a little sooner.

But, where is the light sensor/photocell?

Any advice appreciated.

If you go to the front of the car and look down the bonnet at the windscreen, in the centre (top) you will see a dark area where the rear view mirror is, there you will see the sensor.
Alternative to attempting to fool the sensor you could just select manual on the light controls.

All the best.
