Newbie Buyer

Hi...
I'm looking to buy a GLA 250 AMGLine 4Matic and have been checking out the usual sales websites (Autotrader / Pistonheads and obviously the MB Dealerships)
There are not many GLA 250's available, where as, there are plenty of the GLA45 rang, why is this? Bearing in mind, the cost differential of these models!
Thank you.

Maybe because many of those who can afford an AMG45, can afford to change their car each year for the latest 'must have' car. Just guessing. I love my GLA250 and as long as it doesn't start opening the boot of its own accord (as has happened to a couple of people on this forum), I plan to keep it for a few more years yet.

The GLA200 seems a lot more popular on Auto Trader. I think you're searching for a very specific model and might find it difficult to get what you want straight away. IIRC Auto Trader allows you to setup alerts when new cars are added matching your search terms. Also don't forget to check ebay.

Thanks 'Roytheboy'...
I was wondering, is it because of the more expensive running costs of the A45?
I understand their 'upgraded' engine runs on High Octane fuel and their Service Intervals are reduced!
Thanks again.

I know little about the AMG45 but I do seem to recall that it is very economical when driven 'normally', for what it is. However, with regards to the other things you mention, if they are true, I doubt if anyone that can afford a new AMG45 would give two hoots about a few relatively minor extra expenses. Being the happy owner of an GLA250, I would recommend that you stick with it and wait until one comes available. I mean, who wants a diesel! [ducks and runs for cover]

I don't think if I had a GLA45 that I would drive it normally all that often....

Saw my first GLA45 about a fortnight ago. Looked stunning as it drove past.
